Stress Busting your Dilemmas the likes, wants, and needs that drive you crazy

Imagine if I placed a list of all the decisions you will make tomorrow
in front of you and asked you to turn it in before bed tonight. That list
would be full of thousands if not millions of little decisions. The
majority of those are so small that they feel more like habits or even
conclusions than choices.

Not all decisions are stressful, most you can make in your sleep. Stress
is attached to the decisions that you believe are Dilemmas rather than
simple choices.

Something I picked up from engineering is going for 80% of perfection,
at most going for 90%, because the last 10-20% often comes at too high
of a cost. Gaining perfection is significantly overrated 95% of the time.

Which brings us to your likes, wants, and needs.

The easiest way to get this concept is to write down your to do list. Not
just today's list, I mean the big list, all the stuff you're keeping track of
that "needs" to get done or that you've been procrastinating on.

1) Go ahead, take a minute to write it down you total "To Do" list. It
might take 5-10 minutes to get it all out. Just go till your brain empties
out three times, your list will be close enough by then.

2) So now notice and separate out what you could do this week and
what's not ready yet or too far out to do now. Separate them into two
different lists. "This Week" & "Not Ready"

3) Take the "Not Ready" list and break it out into "Early August" "Mid
August" "Late August" and then "Early September" and so forth until
Mid to late October. Give every one of the "Not Ready" tasks a date
even if you might be wrong about it, they each need a start/end date.

4) Put each group of "Not Ready" tasks in your calendar for "Early",
"Middle", and "Late" parts of the month. Do it in a way you feel good
about it and deeply know you will accomplish those tasks at that
appropriate time.

Breathe Deep and really let the "Not Ready" stuff go. You don't need
to keep track of those anymore. They've been identified and put in
their place. You can go back and check them anytime.

If you're wondering... Those were your wants. You'll get them, just
not going to get them today.

5) Take the "This week" list, separate it into "today" and "not today".
Take the "today" list and make a "Must do" list, "Want to" list and
a "Like to" list.

Any item that will take less than 5 minutes put it at the top of the
"Must do" list. Any item in the "Like to" list that's more that 60
minutes move to "not today".

All of your "today's" are your actual "Needs"

Trust yourself, you made the right decision.

6) Place "Not today" list in your calendar for tomorrow. Makes sure
you can actually forget about it till tomorrow. If you can't move it
back up.

All of your "Not Today's" were your "likes".

7) Last Part, give yourself a "I'm done for the day" time. It might be
4pm, 6:30pm, 9pm (whatever works for you). This is a time you will
stop working and start relaxing.

Everybody needs time to Recharge :-)

Now get to it!

Be Awesome :-)
